On 13th of December, 2018 Klaipeda University organized meeting with STEP project local stakeholders in Klaipeda. The aim of the meeting – to represent STEP project to the public and local authorities, to make open discussion with authorities, private companies, etc. In the meeting participated Klaipeda municipality authority, Environmental Protection Agency, Environmental Protection Department and Public Health Centre representatives. Industrial Klaipeda city society was represented by SC “Klaipedos nafta”, JSC “Neo group”, SC “Grigeo” as well as port, shipyard and ship repair companies.

STEP project associated partner SC “Klaipedos vanduo” presented main problems related with sewage sludge quality, reuse and odour issues. Klaipeda University outlined sludge reuse legislation and future perspective. Guest from Lithuania Energy institute (Kaunas) reviewed their implemented project based on innovative technologies of sludge usage as a renewable energy source.
