The beginning of July for the “STEP” project was started with the transfer of knowledge event between Polish and Lithuanian project’s partners. Lithuanian partners Klaipeda University and associated partner “Klaipedos vanduo” together with the Company „Airplus1“ have been visited West Pomeranian University of Technology (Szczecin, Poland) and Goleniów wastewater treatment plant (Goleniów, Poland).

The main discussion object was related to the odour mitigation measures. Dr hab. inż. Marcin Hołub shared the experience regarding experimental results of plasma technology application to the reduction of the odour level at the different wastewater treatment plants in Poland. “Klaipedos vanduo” wastewater treatment technologist Kristina Bereišienė reviewed the ozonation technology implementation at the JS “Klaipedos vanduo” WWTP and shared the results of the odour pollution level mitigation. The Director of the ozonizers production company „Airplus1” CEO Vaidotas Girdvainis and the technologist dr. Arvydas Stončius outlined odour mitigation treatment technology’s practice in Lithuania and abroad as well as concluded the results of the comparison between different stages of ozonation and plasma technologies secondary sources pollution.
Partners visited wastewater treatment plant in Goleniów as well as the laboratories of the West Pomeranian University of Technology and had discussion regarding further cooperation. Click here to see photo of the visit.
